It’s been a few months since I’ve moved my site over to WordPress for journaling, more as an experiment in automation since before I wrote and archived everything manually.
I’m currently using version 1.2 in combination with MarsEdit to write and post journals. It’s a great combination that so far has worked seamlessly. MarsEdit is fantastic because writing in it is like drafting emails. You set a title, select your categories, and start typing within the body, just like an email. You can save as a draft, preview your post and when you’re ready, you click “Send to Weblog” where it automagically is posted to the site.
The fact that everything works so nicely has kept me from moving up to WordPress 1.5 but the buzz about the upgrade is very positive (many folks are coming over from Movable Type). More importantly, this upgrade will allow me to vary my page design and fold in static pages along with an extensive portfolio of work that I’m busy compiling and updating.
If all goes well with my upgrade, you’ll hopefully see some exciting changes soon. Wish me luck…
