MacWorld Week: The MacBook Wheel

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Happy New Year everyone! Posts are far and few these days. Sorry for that. But all is well, just amazingly busy!

In honor of both CES and MacWorld (sadly Apple’s last) I’m posting a link to a hilarious “spot-on” satirical news piece from the fine folks at The Onion. You may have seen it, but I knew I had to come out of hibernation to share it.

Wired News: Flash Turns 10

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006

I tried the first version of Flash, “Smart Sketch” and thought it was amazing. It was considered a user-friendly version of Illustrator but it tended to produce overly complex vector images. I set it aside, continuing to use Illustrator.

Then came FutureSplash Animator. I was part of the animation team where I worked, so I was always trying to find something new and cool and this program filled the bill. I thought it was amazing that you could zoom in and out without having to basically redraw each frame (which we were used to doing). Throw in the ability to view these animation on the web and I knew this little company would do great things.

Happy birthday, Flash!

Blogger: Playful Painter

Wow, an artist who paints the Mac OS in oils. We’ve pretty got most of what gustorres.com is about (whimsical illustration, user interface, the Mac) in one place.

Guatam Rao auctions his oil on Masonite pieces through eBay.

Currently in the process of redesigning a logo myself, I found this an interesting read. Be sure to scroll down the page and read about other inventors of well-known products…
